This documentation defines the mechanical and electrical characteristics of DC brushless fans.

Input Power, Current and Speed: Rated current, rated speed, and rated input power shall be measured after 30 minutes continuous rotation at rated voltage in clean air at ambient temperature of 250C.
Start Voltage: The voltage which is able to start the fan to operate by suddenly switching on.
Locked Rotor Current: Locked rotor current shall be measured within one minute of rotor locked, after 30 minutes of continuous rotation at rated voltage in clean air.
Air Flow and Static Pressure: The air flow data and static pressures should be determined in accordance with AMCA standard in a double chamber testing with intake-side measurement.

Dielectric Strength: 1500VAC 60Hz for one minute 5 mA between housing and both lead wires.
Insulation Resistance: At least 10 M W between internal housing and both lead wires by 500VDC.
  Insulation: Class A.
Tensible Strength of Lead Wire: Not broken pulled at 1 kg for 15 seconds.
Polarity Protection: Withstand reversed voltage test for 15 minutes. It became running normally right after the voltage is corrected.
Locked Rotor Protection: Protects motor from damage of locked rotor condition at the rated voltage at least seventy-two hours.
Rotation Direction: Clockwise view from label side.
Material for Frame: Glass filled thermoplastic PBT of UL 94V-0.
Material for Impeller and Bobbin: Glass filled thermoplastic PBT of UL 94V-0.
Material for Lead Wire: UL 1007 AWG24.

Acoustical Noise Level: Measured in an anechoic chamber with background noise level 14.9 dBA maximum with a microphone at a distance of one meter from the fan. The testing fan shall be running free blowing without resistance to airflow.
Test Environment: The tests are conducted under the temperature of 190C and humidity of 67% RH.
Drop Test: In minimum package condition, the fan withstand drops on any three faces from a height of 30cm onto a wood board of 10mm thick.
Vibration Test: In rest status, scan at the frequency 5 ~ 55 Hz, 1 OCT/Min. with the vibration range of 0.75mm (P~P). Take 16 rotating vibration scan for each of X, Y, Z axis. The surface inspection and operation should remain normal after test.
MTBF Test: Mean Time Between Failure test method and calculation formula is simplified and in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217D and POISSON table. (Detailed test method available upon request.)
